My family has a carin terrier and she has had a consistent problem over the years. When winter comes around, she goes through an itching phase on her whole back, due to dry skin, that does last until it warms up. Sweet dog and she always begs to be scratched, but it’s not enjoyable if she hasn’t been groomed. Any medicine out there some may know about to eliminate this? Or a technique the vet may not have mentioned?

We’ve tried a few things but sometimes we’ll give her bendryl to calm her down.

Hi, I am flying for the first time in my life two weeks from today. I am not specifically terrified of planes, but more terrified of heights. I have heard you can take medicine, but since its only an hour and a half flight, I don’t want to be drowsy for the rest of the day. I am afraid once I get on the plane I will chicken out and get off, but my family wouldn’t let me. I don’t think I am nesacarily scared of crashing either. I would say its all due to fear of heights. How can I over come this before I get on the plane? Thanks.

Daisymae †SFECU asked:

There was a poll taken among physicians and the results were:
1. Many plan to leave medicine for good
2. Retire soon
3. Practice medicine that does not involve patient care (e.g, teaching)
4. Work part-time

This does not look good. They say they are overwhelmed and stressed to the max. They were Family practitioners.

AAFPmedia asked:

Family medicine is the medical specialty which provides continuing, comprehensive health care for the individual and family. It is a specialty in breadth that integrates the biological, clinical and behavioral sciences. The scope of family medicine encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ system and every disease entity.

Nearly one in four of all office visits are made to family physicians. That is 215 million office visits each year — nearly 48 million more than the next medical specialty. Today, family physicians provide the majority of care for America’s underserved and rural populations.

In the increasingly fragmented world of health care where many medical specialties limit their practice to a particular organ, disease, age or sex, family physicians are dedicated to treating the whole person across the full spectrum of ages. Family medicine’s cornerstone is an ongoing, personal patient-physician relationship focused on integrated care.
