More research again. I want to know how to distribute medicine to cat with heartworm. Vet’s, vet assistants, and vet students! I need your help! Do I give the cat a shot, a pill, special food. Thanks for helping me.

you take it to the VET! what makes you think your cat has HW? it would have to have blood work done to know that

why would you think special food would cure HW.

google feline HW!

Cats, unlike dogs, can cure a heartworm infestation on their own without heartworm treatment. If your cat has heartworms, then you should get her tested at a later date to make sure she no longer has them before starting her on a heartworm preventative. If she doesn’t have heartworms and you are just wanting to put her on a preventative and she hasn’t been on a heartworm preventative before and is over 1 year old, she will need to be tested by a veterinarian before a heartworm preventative can be dispensed.

There are 2 options for a good heartworm preventative that is safe for cats. One is called Interceptor and the other is called Revolution. If you choose to use Revolution, it is also a flea preventative as well as an ear mite medication.

You take the cat to the vet to be treated for this serious illness, which can be cured. Left untreated the cat will die.The heartworms grow and eventually engulf the heart of the animal, killing them. DO NOT TREAT THE ANIMAL YOURSELF.

Go to a vet and have the animal checked out

Can you call your own vet and ask? They’d be the knowledgeable ones.
