The University of Alabama’s Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program is one of the largest and most successful family medicine programs in the United States having graduated residents for over three decades with over 360 resident graduates. Accredited and affiliated with the 500-bed DCH Regional Medical Center, our program is an unopposed residency program that has the advantages of being community based and university affiliated. Academic exposure from physicians in a high level academic setting and physicians in private practice offer residents a wide-range learning environment.

A diverse patient population in a high-tech teaching environment provides residents with the opportunity for a broad learning experience that bridges rural and urban medicine. Our program is further enriched by the presence of third and fourth year medical students.

Located on the beautiful campus of The University of Alabama, residents enjoy the benefits of a large university along with the lively culture and sports of Tuscaloosa, rich in tradition.
