Jennings–vaccination discovery, Salk for the polio vaccine (that averted an American medical crisis), Lister for sanitation methods, and that’s just “ancient” history. An unusual one would be the National Institutes for Health, which funded much of the progress of the post-WWII progress in medical care in the US.
