a_mess266 asked:

I have lost 3 people I was extremely close to, both of my parents have terrible health problems and my brother and best friend are both over in Iraq. There’s a lot more but I’m not going into it and this has all started back in 1997. I can’t go to my family doctor because then my parents will find out and I can’t do that to them because we are extremely close and they’re going through enough as it is. Does anyone know anything I can do??? Thanks so much!

There is no legal means of obtaining psychoactive drugs without going to a doctor, and serious risks if you self-medicate or receive improper or mislabeled medication - but it doesn’t have to be your current physician, if you are concerned about him knowing or you have privacy concerns. There are clinics as well as other doctors who can assess your situation and prescribe the appropriate pharmaceuticals. Good luck.

u could reaearch herbs. Some people swear by St John’s Wort.

Actually most prescription meds are for clinical depression which is usually depression without a specific cause. You have reasons for feeling bad and the only thing I know for that is time and talking to someone close to you when you feel like talking. I’m sorry to hear what you are going through. I hope and will pray for you as ten years is an awful long time to suffer. Hope your brother gets home safe.

First let me start by saying, swallowing a “pill” is not the answer unless prescribe by a professional. Sounds like
you have a lot going on in your life. I think you should go
to your doctor and tell him your depressed. He will probably
recommended counseling. Look at it this way. You love your parents and don’t want them to worry, because they have enough going on. Take care of yourself first and get the help you need, so in the long run this doesn’t get out of hand and then
they will really have more to worry about. I think they would be
proud of you, worrying about them and thinking of them. And
I know they would want the best for you. So get the help you
need first, then you can help others.
