krsty_wllms asked:

Unfortunatley this man is also my uncle. He got committed to serve 14 days in the state hospital. They let him out after serving 32 hours. He refuses to take his medicines. I feel that our governing law does not protect the innocent. I have contacted the Sheriff numerous times. They are the ones that got MHMR involved to get him into hospital. He owns three guns and I am afraid for our lives. Can someone help me out? How can an innocent family protect themselves?

you might want to talk to your county police about the guns, with him being mentally instable that should def. be something that should be brough up with to authorities

Move and don’t tell him where you went or anybody else.

find a doctor

Get a restraining order and I would actually suggest moving–I am sorry but, there doesn’t seem to be that much we innocent people can do anymore…

Sad…

Maybe a security system would help….
And do the police know he has guns? I would make sure they know….

find family doctor

In some states that is difficult. He may get worse (probably will) Whoever is his brother or sister your mom or dad needs to be around him (at his home) more. He need to be watched. When his condition get to the point where he is a danger to himself or others then have him committed. Usually the second time they will keep him for the full 14 days and often more.

Call the police , get an attorney to help you 1. get a restraining order
2. maybe have him committed.
A mentally ill person with guns … the cops should love this .
