I am not really sure how to end it but anything that boosts the immune system, even simple vitamin pills should work to some degree.

if it is a full-blown infection, you will likely need anti-biotics … (if it is full-blown, the mucus will be thick and opaque and greenish-yellow and you will have a fever)

if you do not have a high fever, then you can get some Advil Flu and nasal saline …

use the saline twice a day, take long steamy showers, get plenty of sleep, drink TONS of water

eat healthy and drink OJ and have chicken soup … these are beneficial, too …

If the infection is severe then take: 1. Gatifloxacin-400 OD, Medler BD and take plenty of steam( first instil 2-2 drops of Nasivion drops in both the nostrils, sneeze and clear the nostrils and then inhale steam. If desire to take homeopathic med then Sinusan drops(SBL) and Natrum Mur-30 TDS and steam.Get the X-Ray of PNS to see the extent of Blockage and go to see a good ENT specialist

Absolutely no antibiotics for sinus infections! Most sinus infections are caused by fungi not bacteria. Recent studies show that antibiotics don’t help if it is bacteria either because they can’t reach into the deep sinus cavities. The fastest way to get rid of your sinus infection is by using a nasal irrigator, the syringe type is best. YOU flush out the sinus cavities and do it 2-3 times a day and you will notice you feel better the first day! No medicine, no sinus medicine or drugs will help. You need to moisten the dried crusted sinus blockage up there and flush it out! Health food stores should have the irrigator. If you can’t find the syringe then try the neti pot. It will moisten it but won’t flush it out as well. Nurse Kindheart

I am no doctor, but I know that when I get a sinus infection, if I can cut the swelling and congestion, it usually goes away more quickly. The more drainage you can get from the infection site, the better, my Doctor told me.

For respiratory and nasal infections in general, I use a hot toddy of lemon, honey and vinegar, and I try to get a lot of cayenne in my system.

The cayenne is unpopular with some people, but it really helps me.

There are also a lot of imune support compounds out there.

One thing to avoid like the plague is stimulants — like caffiene, Guarana, Ma Huang (Ephedra), etc. They reduce your immune function.

The best thing for you, though, is 8-10 hours of solid sleep each night while you are sick and regular sleep when you are healthy.

Also, if you get a lot of sinus infections, you might want to see if you have allergies.

I’m suffering right now and the only thing that makes me feel better is taking mucinex D. You have to get it over the counter and sign a waiver to get it.

My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis, and I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me — my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don’t get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

First of all, there is no medicine that can actually cure a sinus infection just help you control it better. it might take 2 days to 2 weeks for it to go away. but in the meantime just try drinking plenty of fluids

Don’t rush into getting antibiotics: as the Mayo Clinic website says, most cases of sinusitis are caused by the cold, not bacteria. The site also says that you should *not* take decongestants for more than a few days as it can make the sinusitis worse.

I’m just recovering from a cold/sinusitis and I’ve found that using nasal irrigation helps a lot with clearing out all the mucus. I’m using NasalCare, which has an irrigator and rinse mix and can be bought at their online store…I’ve found that their rinse mix feels a lot better in my nose than just plain salt water. It’s not a drug, so no worries about making the sinus infection worse as with decongestants. In time, clearing out the mucus (along with the viruses/bacteria that caused the infection) will also clear up the infection.

Hope you feel better soon!
